Nausea/Vomitting

Nausea/Vomiting

Nausea is an uneasy or unsettled feeling in the stomach together with an urge to vomit. It can be a symptom of many different conditions, including morning sickness during pregnancy, infections, migraine headaches, motion sickness, food poisoning, cancer chemotherapy or other medicines. In fact, it may be hard to tell exactly what is causing your nausea unless other symptoms are detected.

At Clear Choice Emergency Room, one of our skilled, emergency-trained physicians can help you find the cause of feeling nauseated, and provide the appropriate treatment for it.

If you are experiencing vomiting (the stomach’s contents are forced up the digestive tract and out of the mouth), identifying the cause my not be possible until all symptoms have been evaluated. At Clear Choice Emergency Room, we can help determine the root of the problem and start a treatment plan. Vomiting may be a sign of something more serious, especially when it consists of bile or blood. In both these cases, a trip to Clear Choice for an assessment is critical.

Other reasons to visit Clear Choice Emergency Room when vomiting:

  • Vomited for longer than 24 hours
  • Blood in the vomit
