ULTRASOUND

In the field of obstetrics, a sonogram is the use of high-frequency sound waves to visualize the fetus, placenta and other pelvic structures on a monitor screen. The patient can also view these images during the examination.

The results are very helpful in determining the health of the pregnancy, mother, and baby. Some of the information that can be gathered during an ultrasound are the age of the fetus, rate of growth, fetal position, number of fetuses, and detection of some birth defects. Depending on the progress of the pregnancy, the baby's sex can be determined.

This procedure is safe, non-invasive, accurate, and cost effective. It only takes about 30 minutes to complete. We can perform this service in our office for you. The sonogram is displayed on our 32" monitor in the ultrasound room.

In the area of gynecology, ultrasounds can be useful in examining pelvic organs and the breasts.

PRECONCEPTION COUNSELING & FAMILY PLANNING

PRECONCEPTION COUNSELING & FAMILY PLANNING

Planning and achieving a pregnancy begins a wonderful life journey. Preconception counseling provides a woman or couple the opportunity to discuss health concerns or questions about how to achieve the best pregnancy and the healthiest baby.

An early health evaluation and environmental risk assessment are critical to achieving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy. Optimally, a woman should have these assessments performed at least three to six months prior to conceiving.

Since health issues and risks increase with age, by identifying risks prior to conception, we can provide care during pregnancy that will improve the health of the mother and her unborn child.
