Following the team’s split in Shreveport, the IceRays are on the road this weekend in North Richland Hills. This is the team’s second trip to NYTEX Sports Centre, the home of the Lone Star Brahmas. The first trip came in mid-March where the Rays earned only one point with a shootout loss coming in game one of the series.
The IceRays come into the weekend following a split with the Shreveport Mudbugs. In the split, it was a Friday loss and a Saturday win, which left the IceRays with a good taste in their mouth heading into the final weekend of the regular season. In the game two 4-2 win, the Rays scored four different type of goals. A power play, shorthanded, even strength, and an empty netter gave the Rays the win.
The season series will be decided between the Rays and Brahmas this weekend as both teams hold a 3-2-1 record against one another this season. This includes a sweep for the Rays at home in September, a split in late December, and a Lone Star sweep most recently.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 on Friday night with a start time of 7:45 on Saturday for the final game of the regular season. Coverage for both games can be found on Brewster Street Radio and HockeyTV.
