ICERAYS SWEEP THREE-GAME WEEKEND WITH ANOTHER 1-0 SHUTOUT SUNDAY

Oct 6, 2019

ODESSA, Texas – The Corpus Christi IceRays completed a three-game weekend sweep at the Odessa Jackalopes with a second-straight 1-0 shutout at Ector County Coliseum. Jeremy Forman stopped all 27 shots faced to record his first career NAHL shutout while defenseman Brandon Cimino’s first career NAHL goal was the game’s only tally.

The IceRays (6-2-1-2, 15 pts.) limited the Jackalopes (3-2-1-1, 8 pts.) to just one goal through 185 minutes of action, plus a three-round shootout, over the weekend. Corpus Christi has limited its opponent to one goal or less in seven of the last eight games

Cimino’s goal came while on the power play at the 3:48 mark of the first period. Justin Thompson fed a pass to Cimino, who was skating to the back door and tapped the puck in on the stick side.

Neither team registered any scoring in the second period while the IceRays doubled the Jackalopes in shots, 10-5.

Odessa pulled netminder Aaron Randazzo in the final minutes, and registered 12 total shots in the third period, but could not find the back of the net.

After playing each other three times this weekend in Odessa, the IceRays and Jackalopes each now head to Corpus Christi for the IceRays’ Home Opening Weekend, Thursday through Saturday at American Bank Center.
