IceRays head coach Mike Lysyj had the following to say about Brust signing his tender:
“We’re excited to add Connor to our roster next season. Adding a player of his caliber with junior hockey experience is what we need on our back end. Plenty of teams were recruiting Connor and he choose Corpus Christi, that says a lot about what we are trying to build here.”
Brust, a native of Forest Lake, Minnesota, played in 53 games this season with Neepawa tallying 43 points, which includes 15 goals. His fifteen goals led all defensemen in the MJHL this season. Brust was recently named to the Rookie Team All Star, which signified the top six rookies in the MJHL this season.
