After starting the season off with Corpus Christi, defenseman Casper Gillberg returns to the IceRays this weekend. Gillberg last played for the Rays during the Thanksgiving weekend sweep of the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
The Norrkoping, Sweden native recorded six points in sixteen games played this season. He also has a plus minus of +5 , which included him holding a +8 at one point. Gillberg got off to a hot start as he had five assists in the first five games this season.
Gillberg joins the team at a crucial point of the season as the Rays sit four points back from a playoff spot. His right handed shot becomes the second Corpus Christi defender shooting from that side joining Braden Rourke.
