CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The IceRays are proud to announce that the beneficiary for this year’s Pack the House for Charity Night will be Choice Living Community.
Each season, the IceRays pick a different non-profit organization for Pack the House for Charity Night. In the past, Ronald McDonald Charities and Court Appointed Special Advocates(CASA) have been beneficiaries.
This season’s beneficiary, Choice Living Community, provides a day program setting for adults with moderate to severe disabilities that have aged out of the traditional educational setting. CLC provides vocational, social skills, and life skills training to adults with disabilities.
Choice Living Community’s vision includes a full-time residential facility to provide an opportunity for the adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
When asked about the process of selecting Choice Living Community, IceRays President Cassidy Lange said, “The process was easy. When Bethany briefly explained the history of Choice Living, it was easy for us to support. With me having a disability like Cerebral Palsy and having the daily struggles that I have that comes with my disability, I have a soft heart for the student body with special needs. I feel it’s very important to help the special needs population as much as we can. They deserve an equal opportunity in life just as any other person would have.”
Fans can support Choice Living Community in a few different ways. The first is to attend the Gala that CLC is having on July 31. Tickets to the event can be found at this link: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/unity-in-community-gala-tickets-151829045763
Other ways that fans can support include coming out to the Pack the House for Charity Night during the season. At the game, the IceRays will be wearing specialty game-worn jerseys to be auctioned off immediately after the game. There will also be a silent auction during the game on the concourse. Both the jersey auction and silent auction will benefit CLC.
