The IceRays are proud to announce a partnership with Whataburger for a themed night at American Bank Center in early March. The night, named Whataburger Community Night, will benefit the Coastal Brand Food Bank’s Culinary Kits for Kids program.
Culinary Kits for Kids is a virtual cooking class lead by Coastal Bend Fook Bank Nutrition Educators, where they navigate children through a culinary adventure of healthy eating and cooking. Kids receive a kit that contains ingredients for two recipes, both of which incorporate in-season produce and a Whataburger incentive. The program not only teaches children fundamental cooking skills, but also exposes them to produce, improving the likelihood of them making healthier food choices.
The partnership is a highlight of the Whataburger Feeding Student Success program which serves at the intersection of food insecurity and its role in student success.
During the game on March 5th against the Wichita Falls Warriors, the IceRays will wear special Whataburger jerseys as seen in the flyer above. The specialty jerseys will be auctioned off after the game that evening with proceeds benefiting the Coastal Bend Food Bank’s Culinary Kits for Kids program.
