CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays continue stacking their 2023 Roster further with the inclusion of another tender. Left-Winger Mathieu Bourgault has agreed to terms on a tender contract.
Bourgault has officially joined the esteemed ranks of the Corpus Christi IceRays, adding a new level of skill and talent to the team’s lineup. With an impressive track record in the competitive British Columbia Hockey League based in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada, he brings a wealth of experience and a winning mindset to the ice.
Throughout his career in the BCHL, Bourgault has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, accumulating an impressive 14 goals, 26 assists, and 40 points in 80 games. As a left wing, his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively has been instrumental in his team’s success.
Bourgault stands at 6’2″ and possesses a combination of speed, agility, and strength that allows him to dominate on the ice. His exceptional puck control, precise passing, and goal-scoring ability make him a versatile threat in all situations.
Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier expressed his thoughts about adding Bourgault to the IceRays roster, stating that, “Mathieu is the power forward we were looking for. He’s been a big signing for us. What is a Tender?
A tender is a contract, of sorts. A player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
