ICERAYS FALL SHORT IN THE SHOWCASE OPENER

IceRays departed for Blaine, Minnesota last Friday to compete in the Showcase tournament along with the other 25 NAHL Hockey teams. The Showcase tournament is a huge event in Blaine where scouts from the NCAA and NHL travel from all over North America to view the talent from all the featured teams. The IceRays played their first game in the NAHL league this morning against the 2009-2010 Robertson Cup Finalist Traverse City North Stars.

JOSH BOGORAD ACCEPTS JOB WITH ALASKA ACES

Josh Bogorad, the Voice of the IceRays since 2003, has taken a job as the new Play-by-Play Broadcaster and Director of Media Relations for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, IceRays General Manager, Pat Dunn announced on Tuesday. Bogorad will head to Anchorage immediately to begin the 2010-2011 season in October. The IceRays search for a new broadcaster for the upcoming season has already begun. ICERAYS CONCLUDE SUMMER HOCKEY CLINIC

The Corpus Christi IceRays, along with the Corpus Christi Athletic Club are happy to announce that they recently concluded a successful Summer Hockey Clinic for children at the club. The weekly clinic was hosted by former IceRays stars, and current front office members Justin Quenneville and Dave Gilmore. The Corpus Christi IceRays along with All Temps Personnel and Zu Can Do It Fitness is hosting the 2nd Annual “The Intern” contest. The Corpus Christi IceRays will be selecting candidates to work during the 2010-2011 season for the chance to win $10,000. ICERAYS TRAINING CAMP ROSTER AT 28 PLAYERS

The Corpus Christi IceRays home-venue training camp opens at the American Bank Center in the first week of September, and 28 players have been invited to attend, IceRays General Manager, Pat Dunn announced on Friday. The IceRays can still add to their list of invitees, but NAHL rules mandate the IceRays roster be no larger than 25 players by opening day on September 15th, and no more than 23 players by October 1st. ICERAYS RECEIVE UNCLAIMED FUNDS FROM STATE

Earlier this week the Corpus Christi IceRays received a check for over $15,000 in unclaimed property from the State of Texas, IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn announced on Friday. Searching the website www.claimittexas.org , Dunn found unclaimed property payable to the IceRays and received a check from the hands of the State Comptroller on Tuesday afternoon at a reception at the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce offices.
