2026 Board Leadership Application<\/h4>\n

The Laredo Association of REALTORS\u00ae Board of Directors governs the overall execution of the organization. Principally, the Board manages organizational finances and sets long-term priorities for programs, committees, and the Multiple Listing Service. The members of the Board contribute to the educational, management, legal, and financial skills needed to ensure long-term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year excellence for the Laredo Association of REALTORS\u00ae.<\/p>\n

Director Qualifications:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. \n

    Applicants for the Association Board must be a member of LAR in good standing and shall have at least three (3) years of experience in real estate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Director terms are for three (3) years. Board Member responsibilities include attendance at monthly in-person meetings. Absence from three (3) regular meetings without an excuse deemed valid by the board of directors shall be construed as resignation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Term limits. No director shall serve for more than two (2) consecutive three (3) year terms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    No more than two (2) REALTORS from the same real estate firm may serve simultaneously on the board of directors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Officer Qualifications:<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. \n

      The elected officers of the Association shall be a President, a President-Elect, a Vice President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. The Secretary and Treasurer may be the same person. They shall be elected for terms of one (1) year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Candidates for the position of officer must be a current sitting officer or director with at least one(1)year of service on the board of directors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Declaration of Candidacy<\/h4>\n

      Board positions require a commitment of time and energy that should not be underestimated. Board officers and directors are bound by a fiduciary duty to the LAR.<\/p>\n
