What should I do to prepare for my orthopedic surgery?

Inform your doctor about all medications, supplements, and allergies, and follow their advice on which medications to stop taking before surgery. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery unless instructed otherwise. Arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you for at least 24 hours post-surgery.

What can I expect on the day of surgery?

On the day of surgery, arrive on time and complete check-in. In the pre-op area, change into a gown and undergo final checks. An anesthesiologist will discuss anesthesia. The surgery duration varies. Afterward, you’ll be monitored in the recovery room as you wake up from anesthesia.
