Plates
Plates – Base plates and anchor plates are part of a broader category of fabricated steel plates used in building construction. Both are typically made from structural steel plate stock, such as that supplied by Laredo Discount Metals, and are custom-cut, drilled, and sometimes welded for specific applications. Base plates are attached to the bottom of columns and transfer vertical, shear, and moment loads into concrete foundations. Anchor plates, by contrast, secure structural or embedded elements into concrete, resisting tension and lateral forces. Together, they function as critical connection components, ensuring stability, load transfer, and structural integrity across a wide range of steel building and infrastructure projects.
